June 2nd 2004 If you missed the recent Liverpool show, then here is your chance to see Godbotherer play with Zombina & the Skeletones again at the end of June in Preston.
May 20th 2004 Last nights gig at the Roadhouse was a good show, thanks to all those that made the trek, your support is welcomed. Another good sound but not as good as the Zanzibar, which some say was our best sound yet. Tonight we are home early, the Warrington WA1 was cancelled, promoter forgot to let us know, we are waiting for the Promoter to call us and explain why.
May 12th 2004 If you are not up to speed check out the gigs we have added, Mill, Roadhouse and WA1 all in one week. The Roadhouse show is a free entry show for Godbotherer fans only, so pick up a flyer from Pumpkinhead shop in Preston.
Well last nights show was another RIP SNORTER, great crowd reaction and what a fantastic venue and sound. Headline act ZOMBINA & THE SKELETONES are another top band to be watched, a truly class act, ask them nicely to play DEAD ALIVE and watch your foot uncontrollably start to tap...
May 7th 2004 Last nights show in London was well worth the trip. A big thank you to NEFARIOUS PROMOTIONS, the sound guy and to ROACHVILLE for making it a great night. If you get chance to see Roachville make the trip as these guys will blow you away, they are one of the best bands i have witnessed this year. We will be back in Camden, London, in November for a Punk verse Metal gig at the underworld. GIG REVIEW
May 2nd 2004 Two shows on the trot cancelled due to promoters or owners having problems with music licence's. Totally out of our control and we are sorry to those that showed up. As far as we know the next show in London is still on.
April 19th 2004 Liverpool show added see gigs page with ZOMBINA & THE SKELETONES, THE RICKETS, DOC HORROR.
April 10th 2004 Get down to GX on 25th April when we have DIAMANTHIAN plus MAPLE CROSS from Finland visiting these shores guaranteed to be a big thrashy night.
April 9th 2004 Comrades gig has been cancelled due to problems with venue music licence, apparently the local council heard that dude from the Strettles show was doing the P.A. and revoked the licence.
March 23rd 2004 What can I say about Saturdays show with Asylum it had it all - Perfect sound from one of the best sound engineers I have ever worked with. Dear PA engineer if I ever meet you again I have a special surprise for you. Other than the sound Dave from Asylum spent a night in the Police cells, Paul from Godbotherer near got took out by two local drugs mafia types, Linzy fell down the stairs and the first band on Kraul had a good set but didn't go down too well as the engineer didn't get it quite right. But hey we liked them.
March 7th 2004 Hey if you were there last night then thank you. What a great gig, even better than the mill show. The crowd was awesome and i know all the Godbotherer crew were stoked. Thanks to Asylum (again) and Abiosis for putting on a good show. On top of that a big thank you to the organisers for a great event. One question - who snaked the Ladies once again?
March 4th 2004 Top night in Bolton's premier rock venue the Alma Inn with the FREAK JESUS boys. Always a special night playing with Faz and the lads, cheers for the lend of the kit. FREAK JESUS played a blistering set. If you don't believe me I have the video to prove it, so if you ask Faz nicely he may do you a copy. Two questions from the night: 1. Why did Alan (Godbotherer) go into the men's toilets with the Landlord and a pair of plastic gloves? 2. What have Paul (Godbotherer), Greenpeace and the women's toilets got in common?
Feb 29th 2004 What a good show lasts night outing was - two great local bands check out ONE DAY NOW or FOR MY ANGER if you get chance. Looking to next week it seems like ASYLUM managed to sneak their way onto the Chorley Community Centre gig next week. Should be a big turn out so be there early as we have prime spot being 3rd on the bill.
Feb 22nd 2004 Added some pictures from the Bradford show plus we have a London show arranged in May with a Warrington and Mitre show in the pipeline. We are looking for two local Preston bands to play with us at the Mitre show, probably in April, if you are interested then are contact details our on the contact page believe it or not, OR pop into our rehearsal room at the Mill on either a Tuesday or a Thursday.
Feb 8th 2004 "...In fact, sinister, simple, original but good sums the whole thing up pretty well." taken from a review of the Buckle Up Bitch EP by RAW-NERVE click the link for the full review.
Feb 6th 2004 Buckle Up Bitch review on LOSING-TODAY
Feb 4th 2004 Three shows in a week Preston, Bolton, Chorley (see gigs page) plus an up and coming show with ASYLUM for their CD launch. We promise there will be more T-shirts for sale as we ran out of the first lot and we have a new batch of free CDs coming for all those people who are going into the Pumpkinhead shop and badgering for a copy.
Jan 30th 2004 Bradford Empress show we would like to thank Simon Webster and John of Bloodstream for making this possible, plus Hypnosis for the lend of their kit, Good to see Metal alive and well in West Yorkshire.
Jan 28th 2004 Watch this space for details of an up and coming LONDON show either at Camden Underground or Lewisham Fox and Firkin.
Jan 26th 2004 We now have our own message board go to GODBOTHERERBOARD and post your views. Currently we are asking people to express their wishes for a cover song. Go and have fun. We hate you all.
Jan 10th 2004 GODBOTHERER at Preston 'The Mill' with ASYLUM, IDIOM LIFESTYLE and DEAD GIRLS DON'T SAY. Record breaking attendance for the weekly FUZZY-EVENT-AT-THE-MILL 290 people turned up to witness & give excellent support to four quality bands (See pictures page) and the night also came with some extra leisure time in the Mill night club with rocking tunes. Russ (Promoter of FUZZY night) "F**K me this is the most we've ever had". Cheers Russ for a great night.
Jan 7th 2004 Godbotherer are putting the finishing touches to a new song called Asylum. This will go towards the new 3 track EP scheduled to be recorded at end of January.
Jan 5th 2004 This is what the NORTHERN-METAL-WEB said about Godbotherer 5th Jan 2004 - "Another surprise, cool new band this time I think from Wigan. I hope they're not Rugby fans orelse ther'll be trouble, bloody Wigan. ANYWAY I thought it reminded me of a cross between Six Feet Under and Machine Heady/Carcassy kinda grooves in parts. There's the whole e.p. (in low file size low quality MP3 stylee) to download at their site, which isn't too good at the moment. Lets just say the music is better than the web site, which is what matters in'it." Don't worry we have put them right 75% PRESTON only 25% Wigan & no we don't like Rugby.
Jan 4th 2004 Also rumour has it that one of Godbotherer has shaved his head and now has a scorpion tattoo in place he is also in the process of persuading his girlfriend to wear leather, AAAaaarrrggghhh!!!
